THE SOLUTION

A NEW CHAPTER, A CLEAN SLATE

Society scoffed at the notion cigarettes harmed our health, then 60 years ago the Surgeon General’s report changed everything. Until 1978 lead was commonly found in paint, and in gasoline until 1996.

Each generation has had its toxic epiphany, and dealt with the consequences. Now, in 2024, we are faced with our own reckonings brought about by mass production and a culture of convenience.

I applaud my clients for having made the daunting choice to take a step back and question the familiar, the everyday, the seemingly mundane. To understand the peril of blind acceptance. To choose wisely.

YOUR KITCHEN

The inception of my assessment. The nexus of toxicological and detrimental causations in the home; where heavy metals, chemicals, microplastics and more converge, making their way into your food and beverages; and subsequently YOU.

I will asses the following and more; and together we will implement feasible, viable solutions to restore your kitchen to a healthy, enriching environment.

  • Food + drink

  • Tea + coffee

  • Water + filtration

  • Food packaging + storage

  • Cookware, tableware + utensils

  • Appliances

  • Ventilation

  • Cleaning products

  • Dishwashing + dishwasher

YOUR BATHROOM

The second phase of my assessment. Your bathroom can be a haven for mold, fungus, and other harmful germs and bacteria; and that’s just the living organism side of the contaminant spectrum. These, coupled with a plethora of harmful chemicals, numerous sources of micro and nano plastics, dangerous aerosols and heavy metal laden products, can be vastly detrimental to your health.

I will assess your bathrooms, and corresponding products and tools, for ALL sources of toxicological and detrimental causations; and help you to restore your bathroom to a pristine, health promoting haven of self care and intimacy.

  • Shower + bath

  • Soaps + shampoos

  • Cosmetics + lotions

  • Dental + oral care

  • First aid + topical relief

  • Over the counter medicine

  • Toilet paper + sanitary

  • Dyes + sunscreens

  • Towels + curtains

YOUR BEDROOM

Optimally, we spend a third of our lives sleeping. Our bedrooms represent the inner sanctum of the home; our place of privacy, tranquility, restoration and bodily repair. Yet even here unforeseen pitfalls abound. VOCs, flame retardants, and freely circulating microplastics but to name a few. The key difference with a bedroom vs. other rooms is the occupant’s time spent in the bedroom is significant and static; as opposed to the more transient nature of occupancy elsewhere in the home.

Accordingly, the quality of our bedroom surroundings, both physical and ambient, is uniquely important. I will critically assess the factors listed below; and work with you to ensure your bedrooms are shielded from toxicological and detrimental causations, and thereby optimally oriented to support your relaxation and personal circadian rhythm.

  • Mattress + bedding

  • PBDEs + flame retardants

  • VOCs

  • Ventilation

  • Ambient + blue light

  • Background noise

  • Windows + frames

  • Dust + dander accrual

  • Air filtration

LAUNDRY

Your laundry area and methodology can have great ramifications for overall health in your home. This will have an outsized impact, being a convergence of toxicological and detrimental causations that can result in far reaching health consequences. Allergies, endocrine disruption, respiratory ailments, and dermal reactions can all originate from your laundry process. Chemicals, fragrances, VOCS, and micro and nano plastics are components in this equation. Infants and children will be susceptible to greater harm. Your fabric choices can vary greatly, from benign to downright harmful, and should be purposed according to a risk/benefit ratio.

In assessing your laundry process I will determine the optimal machine settings and cycles emphasizing safety. This will be based on your washer/dryer and the laundry fabrics involved. I’ll notify you of all ingredients of concern in your spectrum of products, including those originating in your fabrics; as well as any that may be catalyzed by heat. I’ll explain the microplastics risk, both airborne and fabric embedded, that your laundry poses to you. I’ll determine VOCs that pose risk to you via your physical laundry and ambient surroundings. Based on my findings I will recommend product and process changes including affordable sourcing, to resolve these issues as needed, ensuring you safe and toxin free laundry.

  • Machines + maintenance

  • Cycles + settings

  • Ventilation + location

  • Lint & microplastics

  • Soaps, detergents + softeners

  • Background noise

  • Windows + frames

  • Dust + dander accrual

  • Air filtration

INFANT AND CHILD

For me, as a parent, this area of my focus was the most personally impactive, and shock inducing. Infants and children, the most vulnerable members of our family, are exposed to some of the highest concentrations of plastics, PFAS and flame retardant chemicals in the home. There is an inverse correlation here; the younger the child the consistently higher the exposure.

We owe it to the next generation to be the best stewards of their health and development. It is a sacred obligation.
